“#ALIVE” is a “survival thriller” about the sudden outbreak of a mysterious illness that causes those infected to attack other people. As the disease rapidly spreads throughout Seoul and grows out of control, survivors are trapped alone inside their apartments without access to cellular data, Wi-Fi, texting, or phone calls. Yoo Ah In and Park Shin Hye will star in the movie as Joon Woo and Yoo Bin, two survivors that are isolated in the middle of a now-dangerous city.
On June 1, the upcoming movie unveiled tense new stills of its protagonists attempting to survive on their own. In one photo, Joon Woo appears panicked as he slouches against the door of his apartment, with the stress of the situation causing his knees to give way. In another, the gamer peeks out from behind a carefully covered window as he tries to assess the situation outside.
Other photos capture Joon Woo looking terrified as he makes a run for it, surrounded by the bloody evidence that zombies have recently been inside his elevator and building hallways.
Meanwhile, Yoo Bin, another lone survivor, looks fearful but poised as she hides out in her own apartment. Unlike the more impulsive Joon Woo, the meticulous Yoo Bin calmly surrounds herself with weapons and tools for self-defense, and she appears lost in thought as she carefully plans her survival.
Several of the stills show Yoo Bin attempting to communicate with others using a walkie-talkie, while another photo captures her aiming a laser pointer at something in the distance late at night.
“#ALIVE” is scheduled to premiere in Korea on June 24.
