In the past, the album sales rankings were often very predictable because the "Big 3" - SM, JYP and YG - always topped the list. However, in recent years, there have been major changes coming from companies that are not very famous at first. In addition, there are many companies that only need 1 or 2 artists to be in the top 10 entertainment companies with the highest total album sales. because their artists have incredible power.
Some notes before reading the rankings:
- Statistics are based on Gaon's data. Gaon is a chart of physical album statistics based on the total number of albums shipped from record labels / distributors, so the number will be higher than the Hanteo chart (Hanteo only counts the actual number of sold copies).
- Each artist's total album sales will be counted from 1/1/2020 to 6/30/2020. All albums sold during this period are counted, including album not released in 2020.
- In this chart, sales from subsidiaries (minor branches, affiliated companies) will be merged with the parent company.
