Singer IU will hold a mini concert on KBS 2TV’s music program ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook‘, which will air on September 18, the same day of her 12-year debut anniverary.


According to StarNews on September 15th, the IU special of ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’ was recorded at the KBS New Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.

The special episode was planned to mark IU’s 12th debut anniversary. The singer made her K-Pop debut on September 18, 2008 on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’. Since then, she has swept the K-Pop scene with many hits such as ‘Good Day’, ‘You and Me’, ‘See You Friday’, ‘Twenty Three’, ‘Through the Night’, ‘Palette’ and ‘BBIBBI’.


IU appeared on ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’ from her rookie years and hasa special relationship with the show. In particular, MC Yoo Hee Yeol was nicknamed ‘Mae Hee Yeol’ (Hawk Hee Yeol) for looking at IU singing with hawk’s eyes.

The music program has prepared a special stage for IU without any other guests to celebrate her 12th anniversary, making it a form of a solo mini concert. IU is expected to fill ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’ with a variety of performances including her hit songs.

IU was spotted on her way to the recording.

Earlier, the production team drew attention by announcing IU’s appearance on their official SNS account, with a message saying, “Send us the song requests and stories you want to listen to among IU’s songs.”
