Hongbin has decided to leave VIXX in the after math of his bad-mouthing scandal earlier this year.

“Hongbin has expressed his intention to leave the team on August 7,” VIXX’s agency Jellyfish Entertainment said on their official fan cafe. “After careful discussion with VIXX members and Hongbin, we decided to announce his withdrawal from the team in respect of his opinions.”

Previously, the idol caused a controversial in March after disparaging the songs and choreography of SHINee‘s ‘Everybody’ and INFINITE’s ‘Be Mine’ on his Twitch Live. Right after the incident, Ravi, his fellow VIXX member, and his agency Jellyfish Entertainment made an official apology. Then Hong Bin belatedly apologized.

In May, the idol decided to temporarily suspend his entertainment career and hasn’t been active since then.

First of all, we would like to thank all the fans who love VIXX, but we’re here tell you a sad news.
Hongbin has expressed his intention to leave the team on August 7. After careful discussion with VIXX members and Hongbin, we decided to let him leave the team with respect to his opinion.
VIXX will continue their activities as a five-member group.
We’re very sorry for causing concern to fans with the sudden news, and we hope you will continue to show your love and support to VIXX members.
