In an online community, one netizen shared a post explaining the hardships she’s been facing because of BLACKPINK‘s Jennie.
In the post, the netizen introduced herself as a 24-year-old woman who currently has a boyfriend.
"I’m a woman and I’m 24 years old this year. I’m currently dating a guy who’s the same age as me. The title of this post might be a little provocative, but I’m posting this because my heart feels ill."
She then went on to share that she used to be a fan of Jennie until she learned that her boyfriend was a fan as well.
"I used to like BLACKPINK’s Jennie. I used to watch her close-up cam videos when I was alone. But ever since I learned that my boyfriend watched her videos on YouTube often, I didn’t feel so good. I think it’s an inferiority complex."
The netizen confessed that she’s been having a difficult time ever since she started comparing herself.
"People say you need to separate yourself from celebrities, but I’m never going to be as pretty as Jennie even if I die and come back to life. Ever since I learned that my boyfriend searched pretty celebrities like Jennie, my confidence went down."
She then concluded: "We fight a lot because of this, but it never goes anywhere. How should I be thinking about this? I don’t know why I keep comparing and breaking myself down. Please help."
