Baekhyun, who recently became the first SM artist to become a million-seller, received an appreciation plaque for his contribution from his label SM Entertainment.
On August 23, Baekhyun posted a picture of his appreciation plaque on his Instagram. On the plaque, SM Entertainment wrote, “THE FIRST SOLO ARTIST IN SM ENTERTAINMENT TO SELL OVER MILLION ALBUMS. We present this plaque with gratitude and hope you continue to walk alongside SM Entertainment, working together towards a remarkable future of growth and develop.”
Baekhyun sold a total of 1,018,746 copies (as of June 30) with his second solo album Delight. It is the first time in 19 years that a solo artist’s album has sold more than 1 million copies since Kim Gun Mo’s 7th album Another Days in 2001.
Especially, the singer had already achieved the title of a million-seller as a group when EXO sold over a million albums in 2013 for the first time in K-POP history after 12 years.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun is currently active as a member of SuperM. SuperM will release their first full-length album Super One on September 25.
