IU is popular not only among fans but also among male celebs.
It’s not a secret that IU has received much love since her debut in 2008. The singer even got the title of ‘Nation’s Younger Sister’ thanks to her adorable visual and bright personality. IU is also popular for her generous heart, making KRW 200-300 million donations every year, since 2016.
With IU’s complete package, it’s almost impossible not to love her, isn’t it? For these male celebs too, they even picked IU as their ideal type. Check out who they are below!
The first one is Jungkook. In one past broadcast, he picked IU as his ideal type. He also revealed that he would like to collaborate together with IU.
BTS’s Jungkook has a number of idols, like Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth, and G-dragon/GD. But, there’s only one female idol for him, and that’s IU. Since before he was a trainee, he was already IU’s fanboy. Many people say that Jungkook is IU’s number one fan, and he freely admits that he really loves IU.
Jungkook has never been shy about admitting that IU is his idol. It seems to come up every time he is on a television show, either by himself or as part of BTS. For example, on the TV program Flower Crew, Jungkook was asked if he had a girlfriend, and what kind of girl was his type. He answered that he doesn’t have a girlfriend, but his ideal type was like IU. Every time he’s been asked about his ideal type, he always says IU. Even so, whenever he’d meet IU directly, he was always shy.
Evidence that Jungkook is IU’s biggest fan is evident in the video uploaded on BANGTANTV channel four years ago. In the video, V, Jimin and Jungkook are in the park, listening to IU’s song Friday. V and Jimin are sitting next to each other, while Jungkook was standing behind them. When V and Jimin are singing, Jungkook takes a drink and plays with a ball behind them, and tried to annoy V. Then V stood up, and Jungkook took his place so he could sing his idol’s song.
IU once came as the “winner” of Park Jaebum’s ‘Ideal Type Championship.’ The other female celebs in the “championship” at that time were A Pink’s Jung Eunji, Suzy, and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon.
Jay Park had to choose his ideal type through a world cup on the August 29 installment of JTBC‘s ‘Witch Hunt.’
He chose Suzy over Eunji and IU over Taeyeon, saying for the second one, “I originally did not like women like IU that much. I did not like the cute style very much, but now, [I like] slightly cute…Taeyeon recently got a boyfriend, so IU.”
This left him to choose in the final round between Suzy and IU. He said, “In Suzy’s case, I think the company [JYP Entertainment] would be against me, so I will choose IU.“
Sung Si Kyung joked, “Do you think IU’s agency would like it, then?” making Jay Park flustered.
Jay Park concluded, “I like all female idols.”
On a past radio broadcast, Lee Dong Wook was asked about his ideal type. He said, “I like someone who is cute.” He then picked IU as the one who is closest to his ideal type.
Lee Dong Wook revealed his ideal type as singer IU. On the 30th of September, Lee Dong Wook guest-featured on SBS Power FM (107.7 Mhz)’s, ‘Boom’s Young Street’.
He was asked a series of ‘Who’d you rather…’ questions to reveal the one celebrity he most preferred. When asked, ‘Taeyeon vs Sulli’, Lee Dong Wook chose Taeyeon, and between co-stars Kim Sun Ah and Seo Hyorim, he chose Kim Sun Ah without hesitation.
When asked who he preferred between the glamourous G.NA or the nation’s sweetheart IU, he chose IU, admitting that he preferred cute over sexy. And between veteran actors Oh Yeon Soo and Go So Young, he revealed that he had worked with Oh Yeon Soo in the past, picking her in the end. Lee Dong Wook easily and quickly answered the first few questions, but as the choices got harder, he began to hesistate, which led Boom to create specific scenarios trying to get an answer out of him. The final ‘Who’d you rather’ question was IU vs ‘Scent of a Woman’ co-star Kim Sun Ah, and the actor chose IU. After the game was over, Lee Dong Wook admitted that he was suddenly really tired from doing all that thinking, sparking laughter.
Yoo Seungho and IU were born in 1993. Yoo Seungho said that he likes someone who is the same age as him and picked IU as his ideal type.
Yoo Seung Ho and singer IU‘s special relationship has become an issue yet again. On April 30th, KBS 2TV’s ‘Entertainment Relay’ met with the voice actors of the animation “The Hen That Left The Garden” – Choi Min Shik, Moon So Ri, Park Chul Min, and Yoo Seung Ho – for a brief interview. While the animation has garnered interest because IU sang on the soundtrack, more attention has been gathered because IU and Yoo Seung Ho have sung a duet together in the past. In July 2010, IU and Yoo Seung Ho teamed up for “Believe in Love”, which was dedicated to poverty-stricken children. Later that year, IU revealed in an interview that amongst the men that she’s sung a duet with – including Sung Shi Kyung, 2AM’s Seulong, Yoo Seung Ho, and Na Yoon Kwon – Yoo Seung Ho was most like her ideal type. Yoo Seung Ho shyly spoke of his same-age friend IU saying, “We’re friends. It’s still a bit awkward.” To this, Park Chul Min insightfully suggested, “Love starts because it is awkward.” Source: Newsen via Daum.
Just like Jay Park, IU got 1st in Sandeul‘s ‘Ideal Type Championship.’
B1A4′s Sandeul ended up choosing IU as his ideal type. On the episode of SBS Founding Star, MC Jun Hyun Moo suggested that they do the ideal type world cup. Sandeul was stumped for a moment by the sudden suggestion, but then immediately focused on finding his ideal type.
