In weeks, both Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been spoken up about the police murder of George Floyd and nationwide protests inspired by his death and the other killings of Black people by police officers.

George was killed by a former Minneapolis police officer named Derek Chauvin on May 25, when the officer pressed his knee into his neck for more than eight minutes.

After a delay for many days, Chauvin was arrested and charged with third-degree murder (later upgraded to second-degree murder) and second-degree manslaughter.

The other three officers, who were also at the scene of Floyd's death, were also fired from the Minneapolis Police Department. They were later charged with aiding, abetting manslaughter and murder after harsh public protests.
