According to News1's report on March 9, Hyunjin will not attend the second recording of 'Kingdom', which will be held on the same day. Stray Kids will participate in the survival show and recording without Hyunjin.
This is the aftermath of Hyunjin's recent controversy. On February 22, a netizen A posted an article on an online community raising suspicions of Hyunjin's past school v.i.o.l.e.n.c.e. The writer claimed that Hyunjin, her classmate during her school days, was subjected to unexpected v.i.o.l.e.n.c.e and verbal a.b.u.s.e. Since then, there have been a series of people claiming to have been a.s.s.a.u.l.t.e.d by Hyunjin, which has increased the impact.
In response, Hyunjin posted a written apology on Stray Kids' official Instagram on February 26 and said, "I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my wrong words and actions in school," adding, "I am ashamed and have no excuse looking back on what I did when I lacked more than now." Along with this, he halted his activities and went into self-reflection.
Hyunjin participated in the first recording of 'Kingdom', though, which took place on February 23 of last month, but later admitted school v.i.o.l.e.n.c.e in the past and declared a suspension of his activities, and was absent from the 2nd recording. Stray Kids will participate in the program as a 7-member team from the recording on March 9, and Hyunjin's photoshoot will be edited as much as possible in 'Kingdom'.
Kingdom is set to premiere on April 1.
