What Will Happen to CLC When Sorn Leaves Cube Entertainment?
Sorn, who rose into popularity as the Thai member and lead vocalist in CLC, announced her departure from agency Cube Entertainment. The idol also parted ways with her group after 6 years.
On November 16, Thai K-pop idol Sorn personally announced her departure from Cube Entertainment after the termination of the exclusive contract. In addition, the idol was also confirmed to depart from CLC through an official statement posted on her SNS.
Sorn Announces to Leave CLC After Exclusive Contract with Cube Entertainment Comes to End
Cube Entertainment officially stated on Tuesday, "This is to inform you that the exclusive contract with the artist Sorn will be terminated. As a result, she withdrew from the group CLC along with the end of the exclusive contract."
"After mutual agreement, we have come up to this decision. We would like to express our gratitude to the fans who have cared for Sorn," the agency added and asked K-pop fans for continuous support and encouragement for Sorn's new start.
On the same day, Sorn took to Instagram and conveyed the same announcement.
In her statement, which was posted in three languages (English, Thai and Korean), Sorn thanked both her agency, co-members and fans for the opportunity they gave her as CLC Sorn.
She also avows to still support the future activities of the CLC members, "I wish my girls all the best, and I will support everything that they will do."
Will CLC Disband? Following Elkie, Sorn Left the Group, Yujin to Promote as Kep1er Member
Amidst the news, K-pop fans can't help but worry on what will happen to the group after the withdrawal of two members.
In particular, Yujin and Sorn hinted at the group's possible disbandment earlier, after confirmation that the members have been dismissed from the company.
In February, the Hong Kong-born idol Elkie is the first member to announce withdrawal from CLC after the termination of the contract with Cube. In November then, Sorn followed.
In December, Yujin is set to debut in a new girl group named Kep1er, as a result of winning in Mnet's "Girls Planet 999." The nine-member project group is set to promote for two years and a half.
Due to this, fans worry if what will happen to the remaining members four members Seungyeon, Seunghee, Yeeun and Eunbin amidst the news that CLC will no longer promote under the agency.
