While posing for the cover of the magazine’s September issue, V took some time to answer questions about his daily life and what fans can expect from his impending solo debut.
When asked if he had any vacation plans coming up, V shared, “I’ve had a lot of time to rest [recently], so I plan to work hard from now on.”
V was then asked if he’d watched any movies recently, and he replied, “I saw ‘Barbie.’ Really, truly, out of all the films I’ve watched recently, it had the strongest impact on me.”
After revealing that his upcoming solo album would have a jazz influence, V explained, “I tried hard to bring out the [jazz elements] in a way that could appeal to the mainstream. It’s music that would be best to listen to when the sun is setting, when you’re going on a drive, or when you’re on your way home from your work.”
He went on to tease, “I have a lot of content [prepared] that ARMY can watch when they’re bored. I think I’ve been filming a lot of content to create many different windows of communication with ARMY.”
As for whether fans can expect to see the “powerful” side of BTS’s V in his upcoming solo debut, he replied, “No, I don’t think my [upcoming solo album] has any of V’s particular color. I think [BTS’s V] is something special to me: I think V truly shines brightly when he’s with the group BTS, and I wanted to show another side of myself when I’m on my own, so I prepared a wide variety of new things.”
When asked to send a message to his bandmates as the last BTS member to release a solo album, V remarked, “Now that I’ve done it, I realize just how hard the other members worked [on their own albums]. It’s not easy. But I think that actually makes it more fun. It’s new and different, and because it’s a chance for me to show ARMY new sides of myself, I think I’ll be able to sleep well at night if ARMY like [my album]. I just hope ARMY like it a lot.”
V’s solo debut album “Layover” will be released on September 8 at 1 p.m. KST. Check out his latest teasers here!
