Boy group VIXX will resume their promotions in 2023 as 3-members, while member Ravi may be facing re-enlistment if he is found guilty of having violated mandatory military enlistment laws.
Earlier on January 3, VIXX released a special digital single titled "Gonna Be Alright", the group's first music release in approximately 4 years. Members Leo, Ken, and Hyuk participated in the single, ahead of their 3-member fan concert which took place from January 6-7 at the KBS Arena Hall.
A week after the fan concert, VIXX members Leo and Ken were scheduled to hold fan sign events for the release of their 2023 season's greetings from January 14-15. However, on January 12, VIXX member Ravi became wrapped up in accusations that he hired a broker to fake his health records, in order to evade serving his mandatory military service as an active duty soldier. As a result, Leo and Ken's fan sign events were postponed until further notice.
Now, the 3 promoting members of VIXX plan on resuming their activities with a special appearance on the January 19 broadcast of Mnet's 'M! Countdown'. From there, the 3 members plan to hold a fan concert in Japan on February 3, and in Taiwan on March 5.
At the same time, Ravi will soon face police investigation for allegations that he was a celebrity client for an illegal broker organization specializing in mandatory service evasion. If police determine that the idol indeed purposefully faked his health records as to evade or serve alternative service, he may face as little as 1 year or as long as 5 years in prison. Furthermore, individuals found to have evaded mandatory military service must re-enlist for service before carrying out their criminal sentences.
Meanwhile, the remaining VIXX member N is currently focussing on his acting career and will not be participating in VIXX's group promotions for the time being.
