Boy group TREI, which was widely known as the "younger brother group of EXID", has disbanded a year after their debut.
TREI members announced the disbandment of the team through their official fan cafe on June. Lee Jaejun, the group leader, said, "I believed that I would soon get better in an environment where I could not do anything, and I did my best to resolve the situation. But I didn't see any signs of getting better, and I thought it would be no longer good for the both of us."
"We discussed for a long time with the members, and we concluded that it was difficult to maintain the team," he added. "We wanted to be together for a long time, but we are truly sorry that the moment of separation has come so fast. I'm ashamed to tell you this result."
Finally, he said, "I'm worried about the future, but I'm trying to get back in front of you. The excessive love I've received from you for a long time will be a big part of me for the rest of my life."
Chae Changhyun, the member in charge of rapping and producing, wrote, "I had a discussion with Banana Culture, and I was happy to receive so many good memories and excessive love."
Meanwhile, main vocalist Kim Juntae shared, "I'm sorry for causing concern to fans who have always given me love and affection. The time we spent together as TREI was so precious and I will miss it. I will work hard to show you my best."
TREI is a three-member group under Banana Culture Entertainment and officially debuted in the K-pop scene in February last year with their mini-album 'Born'. When the boys made their debut, they ranked second in Melon search rankings and 11th in Mnet's music broadcast program 'M Countdown'. Since then, they have been unable to have activities due to the agency's ups and downs, which eventually led to the team's disbandment.
On the same day, TREI also announced their goodbyes through their respective social accounts.
