The Recording Academy of America, which organizes the Grammy Awards, announced on January 5 (local time) that, "The 63rd awards ceremony, which was scheduled for January 31, has been postponed to March."
Earlier, the Grammy Awards had originally planned an outdoor awards ceremony involving a small audience, but decided to postpone the event due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Los Angeles, where the ceremony will be held. Los Angeles currently has more than 820,000 confirmed cumulative cases of COVID-19, with a total of 10,000 deaths.
Later, the Recording Academy posted a new poster of the 'Grammy Awards' on their official SNS and said, "We decided to air it on Sunday, March 14, 2021."
In fact, there is a particular reason why K-Pop fans are waiting for the Grammy Awards. This is because BTS was nominated for the 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' category with 'Dynamite'. This is the first time that a K-Pop artist was nominated for a major category at the prestigious awards ceremony.
BTS has come to compete in good faith with prominent international singers such as Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. As Suga said last year, "I want to stand on the Grammy stage and sing BTS songs. It would be nice if I could win am award." Fans expect that the group will be able to win at the Grammy Awards and write a milestone as the K-Pop group with "3 Major Popular Music Awards in the U.S".
