On February 27, JYP Entertainment announced to the official fan community of Stray Kids that, "We have contacted everyone involved in the schedule which Hyunjin was promised to participate in, as well as coordinating to cancel the activities with as little damage as possible."
Hyunjin himself wrote, "As a celebrity, I will stop all activities and start to self-reflect. I sincerely regret and reflect on myself for hurting many people with harsh and inappropriate words when I was in middle school, and I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt, and I will do my best to help recover their wounds."
Below is JYP Entertainment's official position.
"Hello, it's JYPE.
We'd like to talk about the activities of Stray Kids Hyunjin. We have contacted everyone involved in the schedule that Hyunjin is already committed to participating in, and have coordinated ways to cancel the activities so that the sides get damaged as little as possible.
This process took some time, so the announcement of Hyunjin's future moves was delayed. Hyunjin will self-reflect after stopping all activities as an entertainer.
He sincerely regret and reflect on himself for hurting many people with harsh and inappropriate words when he was in middle school, and sincerely apologize to those who were hurt, and will do his best to recover their wounds.
We sincerely apologize for causing you a lot of anxiety."
