In a recent interview and pictorial for @star1 magazine, Son Dong Pyo expressed his love for his fans and talked about his goals as an artist.
The former X1 member was noticeably all smiles throughout the photoshoot, and he later shared during the interview, “I really enjoy posing for pictorials. Pictorials hold a sort of romantic charm for me, so I’ve even dreamt up pictorial concepts that I’d want to shoot.”
Son Dong Pyo went on to humbly thank his staff for their help and positive vibes, commenting, “I’m pretty shy around new people, but when I’m with my staff, they always give me good energy, which helps me achieve good results.”
Although Son Dong Pyo was initially planning to hold his first fan meetings in Seoul and Japan this spring, both events were ultimately postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The idol expressed his regret at the fact that he wasn’t able to spend time with his fans in person, adding, “I’ve been trying to show [my fans] different things, like by uploading dance cover videos on my agency’s channels, but when I get to meet my fans again, I want to spend more meaningful time together. So I’m currently thinking of ideas for a wide variety of content.”
Son Dong Pyo went on to share that he dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter who can not only write music and lyrics but who can also produce his own songs.
As for what kind of music he’d like to make, he revealed, “I want to write a Son Dong Pyo-style R&B ballad. There are many times that I’ve received comfort and healing by listening to music, and I think that I’d be truly happy if a song I wrote could give that kind of comfort to my fans.”
