Shin Hae Sun Is Torn Between Lee Jin Uk And Kang Hoon In "Dear Hyeri"
- Sophia
“Dear Hyeri” is a healing romance drama that revolves around Joo Eun Ho (Shin Hae Sun), an announcer who develops dissociative identity disorder following the disappearance of her younger sister and her breakup with her longtime boyfriend Jung Hyun Oh (Lee Jin Uk). Shin Hae Sun plays the dual roles of Joo Eun Ho, a veteran news announcer with zero presence, and parking attendant Joo Hye Ri.
As the final episode approaches, curiosity is at an all-time high regarding whom Joo Eun Ho will ultimately choose to be with.
Spoilers
First, Eun Ho and Hyun Oh have been maintaining a love-hate relationship for four years after ending their eight-year-long romance. Despite their breakup, their gazes have always been directed at each other, showcasing a constant bickering dynamic. One day, during a news broadcast, Eun Ho experienced a panic attack triggered by the trauma of losing her younger sister in the past. Hyun Oh calmed her down with a passionate kiss, hinting at a potential change in their relationship.
Through Joo Yeon, Hyun Oh learned about the existence of Eun Ho’s other personality Hye Ri. Overcome with regret and self-reproach for having hurt Eun Ho, Hyun Oh shed tears and set out to find her. Eun Ho returned to Hyun Oh’s side, though it was unclear whether she was Eun Ho or Hye Ri. Ultimately, the two confirmed their love with a reunion kiss on the stairs where they had once parted ways.
On the other hand, the first encounter between Hye Ri and Joo Yeon began with Hye Ri’s bold kiss. Hye Ri, who had always admired Joo Yeon, saved him when he was in danger. Overwhelmed by Joo Yeon’s warm concern for her, she impulsively kissed him. Initially, Joo Yeon was angry at the inexplicable situation, but he soon found himself irresistibly drawn to the candid and bubbly Hye Ri, marking the beginning of his first love.
Joo Yeon initially greeted Eun Ho, thinking she was Hye Ri’s older sister, but when he noticed that Eun Ho had the same scars as Hye Ri, he mistakenly believed that Hye Ri was two-timing. Eun Ho confessed to Joo Yeon about her dissociative identity disorder and then disappeared. Longing for the missing Eun Ho, Joo Yeon struggled through each day. When Eun Ho finally returned, Joo Yeon confessed his deep love for her, and Eun Ho ran to him and embraced him.
As Eun Ho has experienced both a rekindled romance with Hyun Oh and a first love romance with Joo Yeon, viewers’ anticipation is high for her final decision as well as whether all the four characters—Eun Ho, Hyun Oh, Joo Yeon, and Hye Yeon (Jo Hye Joo)—who all carry their own wounds, will be able to find their individual happiness in this journey of healing romance.
The second to final episode of “Dear Hyeri” airs on October 28 at 10 p.m. KST. Don’t miss out!
