Park Ji Hoon Posts Sneak Peek at 'Gallery' MV
The 30-second video posted on YouTube last August 8 exudes Alice in Wonderland vibes as the protagonist, Park Ji Hoon himself, enters and explores rooms filled with mysterious keyholes, paintings, and sculptures. It also features one Easter egg that fans may recognize.
One of the display's descriptions cards is named "Nothing Without You," a title referencing his collaboration with fellow former Wanna One member Ong Seoung Wu.
The card also contains the lines "Like a jaguar; So that I can run from you" and "It's as cold as it's burning cold." Could they be lyrics from one of the mini-album's tracks? Check it out below!
The track itself features EDM beats and funk guitar elements, and, in the clip's last few seconds, Park sings a part of the song's lyrics, saying, "Come, take a special seat."
Park Ji Hoon to Release 'My Collection' Mini-Album August 12
"Gallery" is one of six songs included in his upcoming release, My Collection. It will be Park Ji Hoon's first studio release since his studio album Message last November.
For this mini-album, Park has collaborated with the likes of $AM, APRO, & WWWAVE (PAPERMAKER). Other than "Gallery," the album will feature songs such as "LOST," "Strawberry," and "I Wonder."
It will also be released alongside an art film of the same name, as announced in a video trailer posted last August 5 on YouTube.
My Collection is slated for an August 12 release.
Park Ji Hoon started his career as a child actor in a few K-Drama series such as Jumong and The King and I. He first entered the music industry as one of the contestants of the second season of the reality series Produce 101, where he eventually placed second.
Nonetheless, he became widely popular during and after the show, and commercial success soon followed when he became a member of Wanna One.
Following Wanna One's disbandment, Park ventured into solo efforts, with studio efforts such as Message, O'Clock, 360, and The W consistently launching into the top 10 in the Gaon Music Chart.
He also continued to pursue his acting career, playing roles in JTBC's Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency and Kakao M's Love Revolution.
Last March, before his soon-to-be-released project My Collection, he released his most recent single, "Call U Up," a collaboration with Korean R&B singer Lee Hi. It was one of the few entries to be published in the new global K-Pop platform UNIVERSE.
He also starred in the app's new original series Prince Escape: Prisoner 5959, where he plays the lead protagonist as he attempts to escape a highly fortified prison.
