Jessi, Jungkook, G-Dragon, and Taemin in one episode? Yes, please!

When it comes to the K-Pop industry, the influence of idols has been spreading globally and it seems like a day doesn’t go by without a Western television series using artists as inspiration. Recently, a Disney Channel series has gained attention for featuring idols, and it’s none other than The Owl House.

The series follows a human girl who stumbles upon a portal to another world where she befriends a rebellious witch and a warrior.

If that wasn’t a concept to capture your attention, the unlikely combination of idols that made an appearance shocked netizens, and it’s none other than BTS’s JungkookBIGBANG‘s G-DragonSHINee‘s Taemin and Jessi.

The four idols are definitely some of the most well-known in the industry but seem like the most random combination to have in a series together, but it’s happened.

On May 22, a netizen shared a clip that shocked netizens as the idols all made an appearance in the show. For many, it was impossible not to see the resemblance. The show perfectly embodied Jungkook’s “Butter” inspired purple hair, Taemin’s blonde “Jopping” hair, Jessi’s features, and G-Dragon’s iconic look.

Even if it was only two seconds, netizens couldn’t get enough of the random cameo from the idols. Although it was extremely random, many explained that it was proof of the global influence of K-Pop that it even made its way into Disney shows.

After the episode, netizens then shared that the director or artist who did the scene revealed the reason why they included the K-Pop idols in the show. According to their Instagram story, the artist Bo Coburn revealed how shocked they were that they could incorporate the idols into the show.

I still can’t believe that Dana let me get away with this, but I’ll always be grateful. Got to put in some of my favorite artists and represent the music and culture a tiny bit.

Although it isn’t rare for idols to make cameos in K-Dramas, it isn’t as common to appear in Western shows, especially those created by Disney. Yet, it isn’t the first time idols have appeared in children’s cartoons. Back in 2019, MONSTA X gained attention after making a cameo in the Cartoon Network show We Bare Bears.

Even though the four idols weren’t actually in the series themselves, like MONSTA X was, it is still a huge step for K-Pop. It proves that, despite the critics, the industry is growing at a rapid rate and making its way into mainstream television.
