In particular, one friendship that has caught the attention of netizens is between BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and Squid Game actress Jung Ho Yeon.
Even before the K-Drama started airing, fans were aware of the duo’s friendship after Jung Ho Yeon shared pictures on her Instagram of a coffee truck sent by Jennie while they were filming! Since the show aired, fans have not been able to get enough of the two’s friendship and how supportive Jennie has been of Squid Game.
Jennie has recently been making her mark in LA, showcasing her visuals at Kendall Jenner‘s Halloween party and sparking collaboration rumors after being spotted with the Weeknd.
Yet, after both being extremely busy with their own activities, the iconic duo finally reunited in LA and caught the attention of fans for their stunning visuals at the recent annual LACMA Art-Film Gala. In a recent picture posted on Jung Ho Yeon’s Instagram Story, she shared an image of her and Jennie looking stunning in their gowns.
If that picture wasn’t enough to send fans into overload, images continued to be posted showing the two women shining amongst the crowd of A-listers and celebrities on the red carpet. In particular, the two looked radiant in a black and white picture with Korean chaebol Joanna Chun. Fellow Squid Game actor Lee Jung Jae could also be seen in the background.
Jennie and Jung Ho Yeon were also spotted with some other guests on the red carpet, and although all looked amazing, netizens couldn’t help but focus on the elegance and visuals of the two Korean superstars.
When the images were posted, netizens couldn’t get over the visuals of the two! For many, Jennie and Jung Ho Yeon are the epitome of friendship goals!
While it seems obvious why Jung Ho Yeon attended, alongside fellow Squid Game actor Lee Jung Jae and Korean actor Lee Minho, many wondered if Jennie was there due to her name and fame. On the other hand, others thought it could be the perfect opportunity for huge names to notice Jennie and even cast her in upcoming projects, following fellow member Jisoo who is starring in the latest JTBC show Snowdrop.
After meeting during a fashion show, Jennie and Jung Ho Yeon have continued their friendship, and it has been gaining more love amid Squid Game’s rising popularity.
It seems as if BLACKPINK and Squid Game are now intertwined. As well as Jennie’s name being shown in the show’s ending credits, some of the inspiration behind the props was influenced by BLACKPINK, and lead actor Lee Jung Jae is also a huge fan!
