JYP Entertainment Confirms TWICE Momo and Super Junior Have Split
Following reports made on Thursday, July 8, that claim TWICE member Momo and Super Junior member Heechul have ended their relationship after a year and six months of publicly dating, JYP Entertainment has released a statement confirming the reports as true.
"After checking with TWICE's Momo, we can confirm that the two have recently broken up," said the label.
Super Junior member Heechul's company, Label SJ, also confirmed the break-up. "Please understand that it is difficult to answer questions concerning details over the break-up as it is the artist's private life."
Earlier today (July 8), Maeil Business Start Today received information from an entertainment official stating that TWICE's Momo and Super Junior's Heechul have officially parted ways.
According to the entertainment official, the couple's relationship started going south due to their busy schedules. The official stated that the two celebrities are extremely busy with their careers and naturally began to drift apart due to their packed schedules.
As they wished to focus on their career, both Momo and Heechul mutually decided to end their romantic relationship and return to their senior-junior colleagues' relationship.
Momo and Heechul were first embroiled in relationship rumors in August 2019. At the time, both JYP Entertainment and Label SJ denied the rumors, stating the two were only close colleagues. Heechul had proclaimed that Momo was his ideal type on various television shows during this time, which fueled speculations.
The two would often interact on broadcast. Heechul and Momo's first appearance together was in "Weekly Idol." The two showed off more of their chemistry on the JTBC program "Knowing Bros." The duo was often paired with each other and would show how comfortable they were in each other's company.
On January 1, 2021, reports stated once again that Momo and Heechul were dating. This time, however, JYP Entertainment and Label SJ confirmed that the two were in a relationship.
On October 30, 2020, Joy News 24 released the results of a survey asking what the hottest issue in the entertainment industry in 2020 was. Entertainment companies took the survey, as well as broadcasting company employees, film and broadcasting content products, and entertainment department reporters.
Momo and Heechul's relationship reveal ranked number one in the survey.

Famous for his witty sense of humor, Heechul is also a cast member of various variety shows, such as SBS's "My Little Old Boy" and JTBC's "Knowing Bros."
Hailing from Kyoto, Japan, Momo debuted in TWICE after competing on the survival show "SIXTEEN." Following TWICE's breakthrough song "CHEER UP," the girl group has gone on to release several K-pop hits, such as "TT," "Dance the Night Away," and "Feel Special."
