Jannabi Kim Do Hyung posted on his SNS on January 16, saying, "I will join the army on January 26. I'm going late, but I'm sad that we can't perform for you face-to-face. But I'm relieved that I spent my 20s with my friends and our fans so happily."

He then expressed his affection for the band Jannabi, "Since I was a student, we've been together, and we have never been apart from each other since made the name Jannabi. This will be the first time we are separated. It could be a bit cheesy, but I've relied on it a lot. We've always been without a quiet day. Please give a lot of support, courage, and strength to Jung Hoon. I'm sure he'll lead in a great way while I'm away. Please show a lot of love for our upcoming third album."

Kim Do Hyung once again thanked his fans. He said, "I have Kyul next to me, and I am relaxed. Seeing that I loosen my hands, I wonder if something will happen to our fans in 2021. As always, I will do my best to stay positive and healthy. Once again, thank you for making my 20s happy. I'll be back."

On November 6, Jannabi released 'JANNABI's Small Pieces 1' and grabbed the top spots on various music charts with the title track 'a thought on an autumn night'. All the tracks such as 'Sweet Memories', 'Step', 'Old Dog' and 'Blue Spring' also ranked high, showing the music power of Jannabi, who is a "trust and listen to" artist. In addition, they are raising expectations by announcing that they will release their third album soon.

Kim Do Hyung will be the second member of the band to join the military, following drummer Yoon Kyul, who enlisted in October 2019.
