Irene & Seulgi, who predicted a new transformation, expressed their thoughts on their unit debut and preparation process before their full-fledged activities.
Here are questions and answers about Red Velvet 's new sub-unit album
Q1. How do you feel about starting a new unit?
Irene: I'm excited and nervous about how you'll see it because it's a new look and different from Red Velvet 's concept. We prepared a lot, so please show us lots of love.
Seulgi: I felt pressure to do well because it was Red Velvet's first unit, but I practiced and worked with Irene for a long time, so I was more confident in chemistry than anyone else. You can look forward to us new look (laugh).
Q2. This is Red Velvet's first unit. How did you form a unit?
Irene: We've been working together a lot since our debut, including Be Natural, and I think it's because of the synergy.
Seulgi: Among the members of Red Velvet, we've been together for the longest time and I think we'll be able to show you our own chemistry in a different way than Red Velvet, so we're doing a unit.
Q3. What's the title track 'Monster'? How did you feel when you first heard it?
Irene: It's different and it's intense. If you listen to it, you'll be able to relate to it.
Seulgi: I like songs that remind me of my image as soon as I listen to them, but I like 'Monster' because it has a clear concept.
Q4. What is your focus on the performance of the title song 'Monster'? What's the point of watching the performance?
Irene: The dance moves that you two exchange. I think it's the point where we can show our breathing well.
Seulgi: The intro and outro performances are unique. I'm going to make a spider-like shape with dancers. I think it's the best performance for "Monster". And it's a song that has a lot of charms on stage, such as twin styling and dancing like a decalcomanie. Please pay attention to the performance.
Q5. What is Irene & Seulgi's unique charm?
Irene: You'll see a more wonderful, more intense charm than you've ever been shown.
Seulgi: Red Velvet is as fresh as red and as soft as velvet, but this time it's more intense. I think it's our charm to show a unique performance with a performance that shows our chemistry perfectly.
Q6. What did you pay most attention to while preparing for the album?
Irene: I've paid a lot of attention to everything from one to ten. Not only recording, choreography, music video, but also for our fans who have been waiting for us for a long time, I thought a lot about what else to do.
Seulgi: I worked on every single thing from singing to the images. If the five of us sing together, it might look awkward or empty. We worked hard to practice singing in the dorm.
