Who is the best?

BLACKPINK is arguably one of the most famous artists under YG Entertainment at the moment, and even their fellow labelmates acknowledge their fame. Here are three instances in which artists from the same company paid homages to BLACKPINK in their performances.

1. Jeon Somi

For Jeon Somi's "XOXO" music video and song, the idol referenced BLACKPINK member Jennie's solo song "SOLO." In the song, Jeon Somi song "bichi naneun solo," which translates to "I'm a shining solo." This lyric is the main point of the chorus of Jennie's "SOLO."

For the music video, Jeon Somi was seen dancing on top of a car. During that line, the female idol danced the point choreography of Jennie's "SOLO" choreography, proving she was referencing the idol's debut song.

Jeon Somi's music video is rumored to pay homage to BLACKPINK in several scenes. The scene in which Jeon Somi is hitting the car with a sledgehammer references Lisa's scene in "Lovesick Girls."

2. WINNER Mino and iKON Bobby

In October 2020, WINNER member Mino promoted his song "Ok man (feat. BOBBY of iKON)" on music shows. One of the lines in the song "How you like that" is a reference to BLACKPINK's June 2020 release "How You Like That." During that line of the song, Mino performs the point choreography of BLACKPINK's song, showing that he is, in fact, referencing the girl group in his rap.

While BLACKPINK's performance of the dance move is charismatic and chic, Mino's looks more witty and carefree, matching the song's melody and vibe.

3. iKON

In 2018, iKON promoted the song "FREEDOM' on music shows. The song's Korean title is pronounced "baram," which means wind. The song's title has drawn similarities to BLACKPINK's "WHISTLE," which is pronounced as "hwiparam" in Korean.

During the chorus, former member B.I sings "bulleo hwiparam," which translates to "we whistle." For the choreography of this part, iKON pays homage to BLACKPINK by performing the same dance moves found in BLACKPINK's version of "WHISTLE."
