Former Lovelyz member Lee Mi Joo was the one who went up to get her award without her shoes on. On this day, Lee Mi Joo received the Excellence Award in the Music/ Talk Category for her role in 'Hang out with Yoo' and was called up to receive her prize.
When her name was called, Lee Mi Joo seemed clearly surprised and was unable to believe that she had won the award. After a moment, Lee Mi Joo went up on the stage without her shoes on.
During her acceptance speech, she explained, "What do I do?...I really didn't know I was going to win this award, so I kept my shoes off." She was only wearing one shoe, so she wasn't able to have balance. She nonchalantly took off her remaining shoe, making everyone laugh.
She continued her acceptance speech by saying, "I really didn't expect to win the Excellence Award today. I'm really thankful. I thought I did everything I had to do today since I did the opening performance. So I thought I would just sit down there and clap. I am really thankful."
Lee Mi Joo also shared her gratitude to the 'Hang Out With Yoo' members and continued to say, "Last year, I received the rookie award, and this year I received the excellence award. I am deeply grateful and this will encourage me to work even harder. Thank you so much."
