BTS‘s RM and Jungkook have new MBTI personality types, and now the whole world knows it!
In 2017, BTS took the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator questionnaire as part of their FESTA celebrations. Back then, RM and Jungkook’s personality type was INFP or “Mediator”, a type defined by Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting traits.
Although Jungkook is indeed an introverted person, INFP failed to acknowledge the bolder aspects of his personality. When he retook the test, Jungkook ended up with ISFP-A (“Adventurer” in English or “Curious Artist” in Korean). Like INFPs, ISFPs are introverts, but they are also spontaneous artists, who love daredevil activities like extreme sports.
Now, the 16 Personalities has added Jungkook to their list of famous ISFP in the “Adventurers You May Know” section.
Like Jungkook, RM also retook the test and went from INFP to a new type.
He’s now an ENFP like V and is featured in the “Campaigners You May Know” section.
In 2017, BTS took the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test to determine which of the 16 personality types they fall into. Since then, much has changed for BTS, including some of their MBTI results.

1. RM and V (ENFP)
When BTS first took the test, RM was an INFP (Mediator), but now he is the same personality type as V, ENFP (Campaigner).
INFPs are defined by their Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting personality traits. They are quiet, empathetic, and creative people with vibrant imaginations and a deep curiosity about human nature. In many ways, INFPs and ENFPs are two sides of the same coin.
ENFPs are also defined by their Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting personality traits, but they are Extraverted. These charming, highly sociable free spirits love making connections with people. Many are leaders who inspire people with their big ideas and originality.
2. Jin and Suga (INTP)
Only 3% of people are INTP (Logician), and Jin and Suga are two of them. Like RM, Suga was originally INFP, but his results changed earlier this year.
INTPs are unconventional people who are defined by their Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Prospecting personality traits. They don’t like being “ordinary”, and they pride themselves on being inventive.
INTPs are highly intellectual people who mix creativity with intelligence, so it’s no surprise that some of the most famous INTPs are philosophers and scientists. Their minds are constantly buzzing with ideas as they move through life with optimism and rationality.

3. J-Hope (ESFJ)
J-Hope‘s personality type is ESFJ (Consul), and it’s defined by Extraverted, Observant, Feeling, and Judging traits. ESFJs are ultimate cheerleaders; they radiate positive energy that they happily use to uplift the people around them.
ESFJs make excellent role models, who use whatever power and influence they have for good. They respect authority, uphold rules, and excel at restoring harmony. They also love to plan social activities!
4. Jimin (ENFJ)
Jimin is a Protagonist (ENFJ): Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging. ENFJs are as warm and loving as they are strong-minded, and they’re known for being charismatic.
These confident, passionate leaders only make up 2% of the population. They enjoy guiding other people towards becoming better versions of themselves, and they are very aware of their own feelings. Authenticity, altruism, and compassion are all signature ENFJ traits.
5. Jungkook (ISFP)
As of October 2020, Jungkook isn’t an INFP anymore, he’s an ISFP (Adventurer)! This means INFP went from being the most common personality type in BTS to being nonexistent. ISFP personalities are defined by their Introverted, Observant, Feeling, and Prospecting personality traits.
ISFPs are spontaneous, vivacious artists, who love to do their own thing and refuse to be held back. Many engage in adventurous activities like extreme sports, but as introverts, they also need time to recharge. ISFPs are also great with people; they connect with others on an emotional level that helps them create harmony. Charming, imaginative, and curious are all words that describe ISFPs like Jungkook!
