Billboard, a U.S. music media outlet, unveiled its 'The 50 Best Albums of 2020: Staff Picks' on December 7 (local time). The list was made by Billboard's staff themselves, obviously. And here, BLACKPINK's 'THE ALBUM' was ranked 25th, the highest among all K-Pop albums (the other K-Pop album on the list, BTS' 'Map of the Soul: 7', was ranked 33rd).

"Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé offer up eight thrilling doses of grade-A K-pop perfection," Billboard wrote, "Add in a pair of high-profile collaborations with stateside superstars Selena Gomez ('Ice Cream') and Cardi B ('Bet You Wanna') and The Album not only builds on the foursome’s string of hits since their 2016 debut, it also provides the perfect entry point for soon-to-be Blinks to embrace the girls..."

In particular, Billboard praised BLACKPINK as they "continue their meteoric rise", saying, "BLACKPINK is the revolution, indeed."

BLACKPINK has gained an unrivaled position in the global music market with their vigorous activities this year. Each new song, including 'Sour Candy' in May, a collaboration song with pop star Lady Gaga, 'How You Like That' in June, and 'Ice Cream' in August, and the album 'THE ALBUM' released in October, has written a new history for K-Pop girl groups.

Among them, How You Like That was chosen as the 'Song Of The Summer' at the '2020 MTV Video Music Awards' in August, while BLACKPINK's first full-length album ranked second in both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the U.K. Official Albums chart for eight consecutive week, respectively.

Thanks to this remarkable achievement, BLACKPINK is receiving spotlight from year-end award ceremonies at home and abroad and becomes the talk of the town for media outlets.

Along with Billboard’s '50 Best Albums of 2020: Staff Picks', on the same day, 'Ice Cream' was ranked 13th among 'The 50 Best Songs of 2020' selected by Rolling Stone.

BLACKPINK was the first K-Pop girl group to win the 'Group of the Year' award at the recent U.S. 'Variety Hitmakers' ceremony, and also won Chinese QQ Music's 'Boom Boom Awards' and 'Global Popular Group Awards'.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is preparing for the live online concert 'THE SHOW' (YG PALM STAGE - 2020 BLACKPINK: THE SHOW). This is the first concert to be held since their release of 'THE ALBUM', drawing attention on what kind of fantastic performance BLACKPINK will deliver.
