tvN 'Hospital Playlist 2' Postpones Filming To January, Broadcast Planned For April 2021
tvN announced on December 16 that "'Hospital Playlist 2' is in a stage where we are preparing hard," adding, "We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to tell you the detailed schedule."
'Hospital Playlist 2' is the second season of 'Hospital Playlist', which ended in May, and was planned to be filmed in December. However, due to the recent rapid spread of COVID-19 in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, the production team has decided to postpone filming for safety reasons. Some broadcasting officials revealed that the script reading, which was originally scheduled to be carried out early this month, will also be carried out in early January next year.
During an interview after the end of season 1, director Shin Won Ho said, "We planned to start filming for the season 2 by the end of the year and expected it to air next year. However, due to the re-proliferation of COVID-19, the filming schedule is uncertain and it is expected to be postponed until next year."
In a related development, according to OSEN on December 16, "'Hospital Playlist 2' is expected to begin its first broadcast in April 2021 and meet viewers."
However, the timing of the formation of 'Hospital Playlist 2' has not been confirmed yet. According to an official, tvN wants 'Hospital Playlist 2' to air in the first half of next year, but they are watching the situation due to the pandemic.
'Hospital Playlist' is a medical drama starring Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung and Jeon Mi Do. In addition, Shin Hyun Bin, Ahn Eun Jin, Joy Hyun, and Bae Hyun Sung appeared in the show and were loved by viewers. The 12-episode first season airing from March to May became a sensation, gaining huge popularity with the highest ratings of 14.1% (according on Nielsen Korea).
