“So I Married the Anti-Fan”
A top star and his anti-fan… living together? As impossible as it sounds, that’s exactly what happens in this romantic comedy. Lee Geun Young (Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung), a magazine reporter, has an unpleasant encounter with global K-pop star Who Joon (Choi Tae Joon) at an event she’s assigned to attend. When she loses her job, she believes it’s Who Joon’s fault and protests outside of his agency’s headquarters. Photos of Lee Geun Young’s one-woman protest circulate online, making her known as Who Joon’s No. 1 anti-fan. Things take a strange turn when she and Who Joon are cast in a virtual marriage reality show with the concept of a star who has to live with his biggest anti-fan. Will they hate one another more as they are forced to see each other daily, or will they discover some unexpected feelings?
“So I Married the Anti-Fan” is based on a novel and webtoon that also has a popular Chinese film adaptation starring EXO‘s Chanyeol and Mabel Yuan.
“The Penthouse 3”
The final season of the hit “Penthouse” series is here, and the residents of Hera Palace are still thirsty for revenge.
Set in a 100-floor luxury penthouse apartment called Hera Palace, the first season featured three women at the heart of the tale: the “queen” of the penthouse Shim Soo Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah), the “prima donna” Cheon Seo Jin (Kim So Yeon) who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) who will do anything it takes to get into the world of high society. “The Penthouse 2” ended with Shim Soo Ryeon witnessing Logan Lee (Park Eun Suk) getting involved in a fatal explosion, and she’s about to get to the bottom of it all in the third and final season.
“Doom at Your Service”
In this fantasy romance drama, Myul Mang (Seo In Guk) is a supernatural being that causes everything he touches to vanish, and Tak Dong Kyung (Park Bo Young) is a web novel editor who is suddenly diagnosed with a disease that gives her only 100 days to live. She wishes for doom (myulmang) on the entire world, but is instead found by the homonymous Myul Mang. They enter into a dangerous contract in which she will be allowed to live her dream life for 100 days. When time is up, her life will be taken without question, and if she breaks the contract, the person she loves most will die. But what if Myul Mang becomes her most beloved?
“Imitation”
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Imitation” focuses on the work and love lives of K-pop idols in the competitive entertainment industry. Jung Ji So stars as Lee Ma Ha, the girl group Tea Party’s hard-working center who becomes known for her resemblance to superstar soloist LA LIMA (Park Ji Yeon). Lee Ma Ha gets off on the wrong foot with Kwon Ryoc (Lee Jun Young), the aloof center of the A-list boy group SHAX, when she accidentally injures one of the SHAX members. ATEEZ‘s Yunho takes the role of Lee Yoo Jin, a member of the boy group Sparkling and Lee Ma Ha’s childhood friend who vows to protect her.
“Youth of May”
Set in May 1980, “Youth of May” follows the love story of medical student Hwang Hee Tae (Lee Do Hyun) and nurse Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si). The pair have a fateful meeting when Kim Myung Hee shows up instead of her friend Lee Soo Ryun (Geum Sae Rok) for a blind date with Hwang Hee Tae, and they fall in love amidst the heated pro-democracy movement taking place in Gwangju, Korea. Rather than focusing on the frontline of the Gwangju Uprising, the drama is about the love and friendships of young people who would’ve had ordinary lives otherwise.
