On March 9, the production team of “Strangers” shared that Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, Jeon Hye Jin, Ahn Jae Wook, and Park Sung Hoon have been confirmed to star in the drama.
Based on a popular webtoon, “Strangers” is a comedy drama that tells the delightful cohabitation story of a clumsy mother and her coolheaded daughter. Scriptwriter Min Seon Ae and director Lee Min Woo, who helmed “Cinderella and Four Knights” and Season 4 of “God’s Quiz,” have teamed up to create a high quality drama.
Jeon Hye Jin will take on the role of Eun Mi, a charming and bubbly physical therapist and single mother with a 29-year-old daughter. Sooyoung will play the role of Jin Hee, a police station patrol team leader who urgently needs to crack down on her own mother Eun Mi rather than on her cases. The two charming actresses are expected to showcase unique mother-daughter chemistry that has never been seen before through “Strangers.”
On top of this, Ahn Jae Wook will portray Jin Hong, a mysterious otolaryngologist who pursues a principled life and suddenly appears in front of Eun Mi one day. Park Sung Hoon’s character Jae Won is a police director who is relegated to the Namchon Police Station, and his life gets even more twisted when he meets Jin Hee there. Ahn Jae Wook, who has been known for his great acting skills over the years, and Park Sung Hoon, who recently impressed through his villain role in the hit drama “The Glory,” raise viewers’ anticipation for the drama.
“Strangers” is set to premiere in the second half of this year. Stay tuned for more updates!
