Song Joong Ki has announced that he will be leaving the cast of the upcoming film “Season of You and Me” to rearrange his schedule for the second half of this year.
"Song Joong-ki will not be appearing in 'You and My Season' due to unexpected scheduling conflicts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic" - an official from his agency High Story D&C confirmed to OSEN on the 5th. Because it is inevitable, the schedule for the second half of this year is being adjusted.
The official added, "Song Joong-ki plans to focus on the promotion schedule of the movie 'Space Sweepers' (director Cho Sung-hee), which is set to be released this summer."
Earlier this year, Song Joong Ki’s upcoming movie “Bogotá” made the decision to halt filming due to safety concerns following the outbreak of COVID-19. As the movie was being filmed on location in Colombia, the cast and crew returned to Korea ahead of schedule in March, and the producers later announced that filming would be pushed back to next year.
Song Joong Ki initially planned to film “Season of You and Me,” a biopic about the late singer-songwriter Yoo Jae Ha, after wrapping up filming for “Bogotá” in May. However, due to the latter film unexpectedly postponing its production schedule to next year, the actor has been forced to make changes to his schedule for the remainder of 2020.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki’s upcoming sci-fi blockbuster “Space Sweepers” is gearing up for a release later this summer.
