Song Hye Kyo is considering taking a lead role in a drama set in the fashion world!
On November 9, Ilgan Sports reported that Song Hye Kyo will star as Ha Young Eun in the drama “Now, We Are Breaking Up” (literal translation).
Her agency UAA later clarified to Newsen, “It’s one of the projects she’s considering.”
The character Ha Young Eun is the leader of the design team at a fashion label. Ilgan Sports describes her as a cold-hearted realist who is also smart and prioritizes safety above all things. Her biological age is 38, but as a designer at a fashion label, she manages her body and follows the trends in order to maintain a youthful and beautiful appearance. She is clear about reaping the rewards for her own work, and she doesn’t waste time getting emotional over men.
If Song Hye Kyo decides to take the role, this will be her first drama in two years since “Encounter.”
While Soo Ae, Yoo Tae Oh, and Yoon Jung Hee were previously reported to be in talks for the drama, Soo Ae and Yoo Tae Oh have had to turn down offers, with Soo Ae unable to take the lead role due to scheduling issues.
“Now, We Are Breaking Up” is written by Je In, who previously penned “Misty.” The director is Lee Gil Bok, who previously was a cinematographer for “My Love From the Star,” “Vagabond,” and “Dr. Romantic.”
