KBS Announces New Drama 'Youth of May' Starring Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, Lee Sang Yi, Keum Sae Rok
KBS2's new drama 'Youth of May' (written by Lee Gang, directed by Song Min Yup) is a retro melodrama about the love story of Hee Tae (played by Lee Do Hyun) and Myung Hee (played by Ko Min Si) who fell in the midst of history in May 1980.
'Youth of May' will portray the stories of young people running toward their own fate without knowing the upcoming whirlpool of history. In the meantime, actors Lee Do Hyun, Ko Min Si, Lee Sang Yi, and Geum Sae Rok have confirmed their appearances, making headlines.
Lee Do Hyun will transform himself into Hwang Hee Tae, a college student who entered a medical school and is the top of his class. He is someone who tries to break down prejudices against himself. Attention is already drawn to how Lee Do Hyun, who has emerged as a rising star with his warm-hearted visuals and shrewd acting skills, will portray Hwang Hee Tae, who has a strong spirit and unpredictable dexterity.
Ko Min Si will play Kim Myung Hee, a third-year nurse. She is more of a "warrior" than an angel in white clothes who is not discouraged by unfair treatment. Attention is drawn to another transformation of the actress, which has been well-received for her rich emotional performance, which goes back and forth between loveliness and sadness.
Lee Sang Yi will play the role of Lee Soo Chan, a three-year-older brother of Su Su (played by Geum Sae Rok) who runs his father's company after studying in France. Not long ago, Lee Sang Yi became a popular actor by playing in the drama 'Once Again', and will once again imprint his strong presence on viewers through 'Youth of May'.
Lastly, Geum Sae Rok plays Lee Soo Ryeon, a college student majoring in law. Unlike her good looks, she is easy-going. She takes the lead in social justice with a special sense of debt to wealthy families and relies on her friend Myung Hee as if she were her own sister. Expectations are high on what the actress will look like this time, as she is actively working with her own charm and colorful acting.
Meanwhile, 'Youth of May' will air in 2021.
