There was a deceased mother who just wanted to cook for her son, a mother who just wanted to touch her daughter who was in a hospital bed, a father who wished to walk her daughter down the aisle, a daughter who wanted to hug her mother who was standing under the rain, but they all could not do what they want. They are still there, just in the form of ghosts, watching over their loved ones. The inability to touch the people they love is Hi Bye, Mama!'s biggest weapon to bring tears to viewers.
2. Watch to laugh with funny situations
Although it will make the audience quite sad, Hi Bye, Mama! has no shortage of charming comedic scenes and even those "comedic scenes" make viewers feel the feelings the film wants to convey.

In the five years since Yoo Ri died, many things have changed, even a husband who thought he would never remarry has remarried. But then, under the lens of Yoo Ri, the audience was told that no one really can overcome the pain, they still cry silently in the dark corner when remembering the past memories. The film makes the viewer feel the flow of life, the time and the way that people continue living with the pain they still hold on.
The film also cleverly built the characters so no one would hate them, they were even the best version they could be in reality. A husband loves his wife so much that he wants to die with his wife, a close friend who is like a family member, a family full of love and tolerance, a stepmother loves her husband's stepchild as her own. All Hi Bye, Mama!'s characters are not obnoxious - all carries heavy pain and must face them in their own way.
