BTS’s V is dominating iTunes charts worldwide with his official solo debut!
On September 8 at 1 p.m. KST, V made his highly-anticipated solo debut with his first album “Layover” and its title track “Slow Dancing.” Immediately upon its release, both the album and the song soared to the top of iTunes charts in numerous countries around the world.
According to BIGHIT MUSIC, by 7 a.m. KST on September 9, “Slow Dancing” had already hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 75 different regions, including the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, France, Australia, Canada and more. Meanwhile, “Layover” had already reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 65 different regions. (Both numbers are estimated to have climbed higher since.)
V also set a new record for the highest first-day sales of any solo artist in Hanteo history with “Layover,” which sold over 1.67 million copies on September 8 alone.
