Yoo Youngjae, a former member of boy group B.A.P, has confirmed to star in the upcoming tvN's historical drama 'Queen Cheorin'.
According to his agency J-World on June 22, Youngjae was cast in tvN's new drama 'Queen Cheorin'. "Youngjae has already started filming because he plays a significant role in 'Queen Cheorin', and he proudly became the owner of the role through an official audition," said his agency J-World.
'Queen Cheorin' is a historical comedy drama in which the soul of Jang Bong Hwan, a free man living in modern times, is trapped inside the body of Kim So Yong, a lieutenant in the Joseon Dynasty palace. Youngjae plays Kim Hwan, the youngest son of the Kim family, who enjoys power. He is like the "X-Men" of the Kim family, who brags about his family's affairs to the outside world with his innocent and immature appearance.
Youngjae will act in a historical drama for the first time through 'Queen Cheorin'. In addition, he is expected to show his affectionate romantic acting towards a special woman in the play. Youngjae shared, "Since I am challenging my first historical drama role among prominent seniors, I am receiving acting training every day when there is no filming," and added, "I will do my best to establish myself as an 'actor Youngjae'."
Starring actors Shin Hye Sun, Kim Jung Hyun, Bae Jong Ok and Kim Tae Woo, 'Queen Cheorin' will air on tvN and is currently adjusting the schedule. Director Yoon Sung Sik, who directed 'Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth', 'The King's Fac'e and 'Bridal Mask', will helm the film, while writer Park Kye Ok of 'Doctor Prisoner' and 'Inspiring Generation', and writer Choi Ah Il, who wrote 'Lovers of 6 Years', will pen the script.
