Revenge may be a dish best served cold—but SBS’s “The Penthouse” has been delivering it piping hot!

Spoilers

As the smash hit drama races towards its climactic season finale, Shim Soo Ryeon (played by Lee Ji Ah) and Logan Lee (played by Park Eun Suk)’s plans to avenge the late Min Seol Ah (played by Jo Soo Min) are finally kicking into gear. In the latest episodes of “The Penthouse,” the two characters joined forces to bring the truth about Min Seol Ah’s murder to light and punish those responsible for her death and torment while she was still alive.

With just two episodes left to go in Season 1, here are three moments from “The Penthouse” when Shim Soo Ryeon and Logan Lee successfully tasted sweet revenge:

1. Giving the Hera Palace squad a taste of their own medicine

In the second episode of “The Penthouse,” the children of the Hera Palace Club kidnapped Min Seol Ah and took her to a junkyard, where they locked her in a car and drenched her with champagne while taunting her with cruel insults. Then, when the inside of the car unexpectedly caught fire, the kids ran away and left Min Seol Ah handcuffed inside the car, without caring whether she lived or died.

Although Min Seol Ah narrowly managed to escape just moments before the car exploded, she came unsettlingly close to death—and when she confronted the other kids about it, they were shockingly unrepentant.

In the latest episodes of the drama, Shim Soo Ryeon and Logan Lee forced the Hera Palace Club and their children to confess to their crimes by using the exact same method the teens had used to torment Min Seol Ah before her death. After tricking them into thinking they were attending a concert, the duo locked up the Hera Palace Club members in a bus at the junkyard where their kids had nearly killed Min Seol Ah, then showed the children footage of their parents trapped inside the bus as a fire blazed nearby.

2. Confronting Oh Yoon Hee with undeniable evidence

On the latest episode of “The Penthouse,” Shim Soo Ryeon gave Oh Yoon Hee (play

ed by S.E.S.’s Eugene) a final chance to confess to murdering Min Seol Ah—and, when she still denied it, presented her with DNA evidence.

Shim Soo Ryeon revealed that after noticing Oh Yoon Hee’s uncharacteristically nervous behavior, she had stumbled upon Min Seol Ah’s apple necklace in Oh Yoon Hee’s apartment. She then witnessed Oh Yoon Hee attempting to burn the necklace and her clothing from that day. As the police had previously found DNA from an unidentified individual under Min Seol Ah’s fingernails, Shim Soo Ryeon had Oh Yoon Hee’s DNA tested to see if it was a match—and it was.

Even after learning of her friend’s unspeakable betrayal, Shim Soo Ryeon chose to confront her about it directly rather than go to the police straight away. But when Oh Yoon Hee refused to admit the truth, Shim Soo Ryeon finally asked her outright, “It’s you. You’re the one who killed my daughter. Why did you kill my Seol Ah?” before handing her the DNA test results.

3. Telling Joo Dan Te he’d been played

At the end of the drama’s latest episode, Joo Dan Te (played by Uhm Ki Joon)’s presentation was suddenly interrupted by the police, who had arrived to arrest him. As he was being dragged away, Joo Dan Te urged them to call Logan Lee for help—but Logan Lee was already there.

Making a dramatic entrance, Logan Lee informed Joo Dan Te with a satisfied smile that he was the one who had pressed charges against him. He also spoke in perfect Korean, letting Joo Dan Te know that he’d been had.

The producers of “The Penthouse” commented, “Shim Soo Ryeon and Logan Lee poured all of the sorrow and anger that had been building up inside them into their unique methods of revenge. Please look forward to seeing how Logan and Soo Ryeon wrap up their revenge on ‘The Penthouse,’ which has only two episodes left to go.”

The final two episodes of Season 1 of “The Penthouse” will air on January 4 and 5 at 10 p.m. KST.
