The 25-year-old Victoria's Secret model also revealed that she gave birth to her first child at the weekend, in her first Instagram post since her arrival.
Gigi's boyfriend, former One Direction star Zayn Malik, 27, had announced the birth on Twitter a couple of hours earlier with a similarly sweet black and white photo of the baby's hand holding his fingers.
Now Gigi has followed suit with a pic of her daughter's hand poking out from beneath her blanket as Zayn's protective hand cradles it.
She captioned the black and white snap: "Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love."
Zayn revealed that their daughter had arrived, telling fans: "Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful. To try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task.
"The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x"
In the black and white photo, Zayn's heavily tattooed hand is seen holding his daughter's tiny fingers, in a first look at the newborn baby.
Gigi was flooded with congratulations on her Instagram post, with fellow model Olivia Culpo writing: "Ahhhh!!!!! HUGE congrats!!!!! I can’t wait to meet this angel"
On Zayn's Instagram post, TV channel MTV added: "This child already has more beauty in that tiny pinky than I will ever have in my entire body."
Gigi and Zayn had kept a reasonably low profile throughout the pregnancy but the model recently opened up on Instagram as to why they had been so private since announcing it publicly in April.
Gigi explained that in light of the current coronavirus pandemic, she felt that her pregnancy didn’t match up to the importance of other things going on around the world.
She wrote: "I'm so grateful for the positive comments and the questions, and wanting to know we’re all good and safe.
"Everything going is great and I love you guys. I do appreciate those positive comments. A lot of people are confused by why I am not sharing more but I am pregnant through a pandemic.
"Obviously my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world. That's the reason I've felt it's not something I need to share, apart from with my family and friends."
Gigi continued: "Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus – that was in the beginning of quarantine and it's still happening.
"And then we moved into the re-emergence of the BLM movement and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that."
