Nia DaCosta - the movie director - released the movie 2-minute-length teaser with a puppet character. The teaser quickly has almost 2 million views on Twitter. Fans are so thrilled with the devious vibe of the teaser and, which leads to high expectations from the director on how to deal with the real documentaries in the movie.

Candyman is a black murderer. According to some myths, when looking at the mirror and calling "Candyman" five times, he will show up with a killer hook and kill the victim.

According to Indiewire, the visuals in the teaser are actually inspired by a real ethnic conflict. The movie condemns racist discrimination issues through many scenes like police beating black people, a man got attack by a crowd and chased until home.

Forbes said that the movie has implications about James Byrd Jr's death, a black man was killed brutally in 1998. The scene when he was hooked behind a car and dragged on the street was also what the real killer did.

Candyman will be in the cinema on September 25th. The cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Colman Domingo. Yahya is the one who played Black Manta in Aquaman.
