Friends star Lisa Kudrow is set to play Steve Carell’s TV wife in new sci-fi comedy series Space Force. In the Netflix series, which also features John Malkovich and Ben Schwartz, Carell will portray four-star general Mark R. Naird, who is tasked with leading a new Space Force army.
According to a statement from bosses at the streaming service, Kudrow’s character, Maggie, is an Air Force wife, “who has sublimated parts of herself to her husband’s career for two decades”. The series debuts on May 29, 2020.
Lisa Valerie Kudrow is an American actress, comedian, producer and screenwriter. She became world famous from the role of Phoebe Buffay throughout 10 parts of the comedy series Friends, receiving a series of awards, including 1 Emmy and 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
She became a producer, writer, and an actress in the 2005 short film The Comeback on HBO and participated in Part 2 in 2014. She acted in two seasons of Web Therapy on Showtime. In 2012, she was nominated for an Emmy for "Outstanding Special Class - Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program".
She is also a special producer for the NBC Who Do You Think You Are reality show. She was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Program.
