Mel B - the Spice Girls member has opened up her past being the target of racist while she was in her childhood.
The Spice Girls singer, 45, is mixed-race and was raised in a predominately white area of Leeds and was aware that other kids saw her as different.
She talked about being chased home from school by them as they called her racial slurs, including "p***" and the n-word.
Mel B told the Daily Star Online: "It was really when I went to school that I understood the color of my skin had such an effect on the other kids.
"All of a sudden I was called all these names I didn't understand like 'P***', 'Redskin' and obviously the N-word.
She continued, "I used to get chased home by kids shouting these names at me, so I learnt to run fast. When I was older I would always win all the races on sports day and that was because I’d learnt to run fast at such a young age."
The American's got talent's judge said that because of her skin color, she kept on receiving caustic comments from people, even when she got famous.
She added: "I remember when we first did the video for Wannabe we had a big styling team and one of the first things they said to me was: 'Ok, so we need to straighten your hair."
"I refused point-blank because my hair was my identity and yes it was different to all the other girls but that was what the Spice Girls were about – celebrating our differences."
Mel B was speaking out after the recent Black Lives Matter protests across the world. They were sparked by the death of George Floyd, who died after police officers knelt on his neck for five minutes. Also, the tragic death of Breonna Taylor, the girl who died after getting shot 8 times
