In March, Katy Perry announced that she is expecting her first child, a daughter, with actor and fiance Orlando Bloom, 43.
And in a series of self portraits shared to Instagram ahead of the highly anticipated American Idol finale on Sunday, the 35-year-old singer fondly cradled her burgeoning bump. In the photos – seen by her over 96million followers – Katy donned a sleeveless, mock neck dress inspired by her latest single Daisies.
”Tune in TONIGHT for the #AmericanIdol grand finale AND my first television performance of #Daisies,” captioned the Teenage Dream songstress. Keeping with the theme of her gown, Katy wore dangling daisy earrings and slipped her feet into a pair of black patent flats.
Katy Perry short blonde hair was neatly parted to one side, slicked back, and secured with a shiny black headband. Her lips were adorned with ruby red lipstick, while she played up her famous blue eyes with some pale eyeshadow and false lashes.
She also revealed in her post’s caption that she would be logging onto Facebook Live an hour before the big show to discuss her performance and all things American Idol. Perry is a judge on the singing competition show alongside fellow musicians Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Perry released Daisies on Thursday evening as the lead single for her impending fifth studio album. She also dropped a coinciding music video. In the nearly three-minute video, Katy donned a romantic linen dress before artistically stripping down completely giving her audience a clear view of her bare bump. Katy had used the music video for her song Never Worn White to reveal the news of her pregnancy to the world back in March.
In April, she took to Instagram to announce that she would be welcoming her daughter sometime in the summer. And, in the Daises video, Katy looked far along in her pregnancy and appeared to feel nothing but excitement for her first stab at motherhood.
Shortly after releasing the Daisies music video, Katy took to Instagram to provide her nearly 97million followers with some insight on the song’s meaning and how she hopes her audience will interpret it.
