She planned to showcase her stunning abs and astoundingly fit figure with an innocent mirror selfie taken at her home gym in Miami. But Jennifer Lopez eagle-eyed fans noticed something a bit more sinister in the photo from Saturday: a man seemingly hiding in the background. Some of her more conspiracy-minded followers even joked that it looked like the 50-year-old singer and actress was holding the mystery man hostage.
Jennifer glowed from her workout in the picture, in which she wore a camouflage Niyama Sol sports bra that revealed her chiseled abs and her strong biceps. But aside from the standard gym equipment, her fans noticed a man's face outside the window behind her and just over her shoulder.
The man, who had a bald or shaved head, appeared to be wearing a face mask just below his nose. Though it might have made it easier for him to breathe while working out, the mask's pleats looked like someone's fingers from afar, as if they were holding a hand over his mouth.
''What's with the guy getting his mouth covered in the background over your shoulder?'' wrote another person.
In reality, he was likely doing sit-ups just beyond the window, which would explain his position and the expression on his face. It wasn't clear who the man was though, and he might have been a trainer staying at J-Lo's property, or simply someone visiting for a workout with the star.
While some fans seemed genuinely concerned, others were clearly trolling the Hustlers star. Some complained that the singer was deleting comments about the man in the background, though plenty were visible. When she's not working to keep up her fit figure, Jennifer has been quarantining at home with her fiancé Alex Rodriguez, 44, and their children from previous marriages.
She shared the twins Emme and Max, 12, from her marriage to Marc Anthony, while A-Rod has daughters Natasha, 15, and Ella, 12, from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis. Over the weekend, Jennifer shared a sweet black and white photo of herself embracing Alex while he read the New York Times.
