Billie Eilish and renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami have teamed up to create a limited-edition collaboration for UNIQLO.
The exciting collection it set to be released late May.
The Billie Eilish x Takashi Murakami UT Collection will showcase the artistic perspectives of both stars through graphics combining their unique styles, which were exclusively designed for the Japanese retailer.
It’s not the first time the two artists have teamed up together.
Takashi directed Billie’s 2019 music video ‘You Should See Me In A Crown.’
In addition to being an active director of films and animation, he is the founder and president of Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., an art production and management company.
Murakami is widely known for his high-profile projects with luxury and streetwear fashion brands as well as collaborations with musicians.
The vision of the creatives provides a fresh take on their volume of work as well as what’s available in the contemporary market.
Billie has become an international sensation after releasing ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ in March of 2019.
The album – written, produced and recorded by Billie and her brother Finneas – went double platinum.
It was the highest selling debut album of the year and the biggest North American debut of the decade, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album charts for an additional 2 non-consecutive weeks since its release.
