The childhood memories once were thought to always stay as memories, but news has been confirmed as the return of Sharkboy and Lavagirl on the new Netflix‘s film “We Can Be Heroes”.

Director Robert Rodriguez recently announced in a remote Collider Comic Con panel about his return to the fantasy world with superhero characters, in the upcoming film “We Can Be Heroes”.

Remember we all once fell for Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dooley for their iconic roles of Sharkboy and Lavagirl? After those years, they have become parents and their offsprings to look after. The kids, however, are sure to have some interesting superpowers as they take after their parents.

We Can Be Heroes tells the story about children of various superheroes who must join forces after the alien army kidnap their parents to the other planet, including Sharkboy and Lavagirl’s little daughter.

The project will be directed by Rodriguez who was known for his participation in From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City and Spy Kids. He also becomes the writer and cinematographer for the movie.

For the cast, Dooley has already confirmed to be back as grownup Lavagirl while Taylor Lautner hasn’t given out any words yet whether he would appear in the new movie or not.

Other castmates to be in the film are Priyanka Chopra, Christian Slater and Pedro Pascal.

The movie is sure to follow the successful Disney’s Descendants franchise, which digs into the lives of the next generations of famous Disney heroes and villains.

According to the director’s IMDb page, he’s also set to take on Machete Kills In Space which looks to be a followup to the Danny Trejo-starring shoot-em-up 2013.
