We Can Be Heroes tells the story about children of various superheroes who must join forces after the alien army kidnap their parents to the other planet, including Sharkboy and Lavagirl's little daughter.

The project will be directed by Rodriguez who was known for his participation in From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City and Spy Kids. He also becomes the writer and cinematographer for the movie.

The movie is sure to follow the successful Disney's Descendants franchise, which digs into the lives of the next generations of famous Disney heroes and villains.

According to the director's IMDb page, he's also set to take on Machete Kills In Space which looks to be a followup to the Danny Trejo-starring shoot-em-up 2013.
