She’s back, she attacks, but more important… she’s ready to leave Harry at her back!

UK author J.K.Rowling has just recently launched “The Ickabog" - free book for children - after two years of absence.

She will publish every chapter of the book on Theickabog website weekly, from May 26 to July 10, so there are 10 published chapters up to now. Rowling hopes that The Ickabog will have the power to release the boredom of social distancing for children, who you know, get bored too easily! Besides, the author expects the book to strengthen children's reading ability as well as improving a healthy relationship between kids and their parents.

The ickabog's target audience is kids from 7 - 9 years old, in a peaceful Cornucopia background where king Fred the Fearless reigns. One day, the villagers are getting frightened of the rumor about a monster named Ickabog who eats children in the middle of the night. The book is about King Fred's journey to Marshlands to fight against the monster, and everything in between to help his civilians live a happy life again.

Rowling said that she had completed the draft of during her writing times of Harry Potter and planned to release it after the last chapter of Harry Potter came out. However, after the worldwide popularity of Harry’s path ended in 2007, she quoted the children's book genre. She took the name Robert Galbraith back then, wrote The Casual Vacancy (Social novel) and The Cuckoo's Calling (Penal novel).

J.K.Rowling also starts the book figure's contest for children based on the character’s hints. She said: “Let the creativeness fly. Don't worry about your capability of art.

All of the profits gained from the book will be funded to help people in the pandemic crisis. It is planned that in November, the book will be out under three formats: printed book, audiobook and ebook.
