After 24 years of marriage, Dr. Dre and Nicole Young are reportedly coming for a divorce.
Nicole has filed for separation from the 55-year-old rapper at the Los Angeles County Court on Monday, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, got married to Nicole in 1996 and they share two children together, 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Truly. The pair did not sign a prenup before getting married and Nicole is asked for spousal support, according to a close source.
The rapper is approximately worth an $800million (£650m), according to Forbes magazine. Nicole, who was previously married to Sedale Threatt, NBA player, is being represented in the divorce by celeb attorney, Samantha Spector, as the publication claimed.
Nicole spoke highly of Dre in the Netflix document series called “The Defiant Ones”, which follows the artist’s partnership with producer Jim Iovine. Dre last shared a photo of him and Nicole on his Instagram account in September 2018, posting a snap of them looked happy together. The rapper then captioned: “Was just an average Tuesday.”

A few months earlier, he and his wife celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on a helicopter ride to see the musical Hamilton. He shared a snap of them posing right next to the helicopter.
“22nd Anniversary! Headed to see Hamilton.”, he wrote.
Dre gained recognization when being a part of the hip hop group named N.W.A, in the late ’80s. He then started his successful career with the position as a producer and founder of Beats Electronics. His headphone brand called, Beats by Dre was brought by Apple for £3bn in 2014.
