Twitter users seem to be mad at Grammy-winning musician Billie Eilish after the 18-year-old liked the most regular meme on Instagram. While half of Twitter decided to chastise her for liking the meme about Snapchat filters coming off, the other half — mostly her fans — came to the singer's defense by calling out the ridiculous backlash.

As has been explained by Eilish's fans countless times on Twitter now, the meme she liked on Instagram was about former One Direction members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson. The post was a clip from the music video for the band's song 'You And I' where Malik's face changes into Tomlinson's, captioned: "When you move and the Snapchat filter comes off." Dedicated and brutally loyal as ever, some fans of Tomlinson and the band, in general, took offense and began tweeting so aggressively about it, that it became a hashtag.

"I never thought Billie of all people would be supporting making fun of someone’s appearance," lamented a fan on Twitter, while another one followed a popular meme format and asked "This y'all wcw? tragic." WCW is the acronym for Woman Crush Wednesday, a hashtag trend, which in this context means people were dissing Eilish's fans for supporting her.

While half of Twitter dragged her for 'calling him ugly', the other half came to her defense and blew off the backlash over how silly it all is. "Louis is a GROWN a3s man married and with a kid.. do y’all think he cares if a 18yrs old girl likes a post about him supposedly calling him ugly… if he doesn’t care why do y’all," wrote a fan on Twitter.

Another fan remarked: "Imagine bullying a beautiful and talented 18 old young woman bc she liked a funny ass meme. I even laughed. Like come on. Yall are so bored and always wanna cancel someone." And of course, keeping in mind the current times, a user tweeted: "Y’all trying to cancel billie for liking a meme? Is quarantine affecting everyone’s head or smth… it really be circus time."
