Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, said on May 7 that IU has donated 10 million won to them to mark Family Month. Yangpyeong will use IU's donation to help single-parent families and elderly people in need.

In March, the singer also donated 20 million won to Yangpyeong County to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

IU is one of the brightest charity angels in the entertainment industry. She has helped a lot of struggling people by consistently spending her profits from entertainment activities such as music, acting and advertising. She donated 100 million won every year on Children's Day to the Green Umbrella Child Fund, since 2015, and she delivered 300 million won worth of donations to the Korean Medical Association, Good Neighbors and Seocho District in February and March this year to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In recognition of her good deeds, IU was named on the list of 30 ‘Asia’s 2019 Heroes Of Philanthropy’ by the U.S. magazine Forbes last December.
