Despite being added to their group later, 6 K-pop idols still show their talents and play an important role groups.

It is quite common in K-Pop when a member or two are added to or removed from a group. Some of these member changes lead to great success for the group and may be a small boost to help the group excel. You may not know yet, but here are a few famous K-Pop idols who were not the original members of their group when it debuted.

1. Hyeri & Yura (Girl’s Day)

Girls' Day originally debuted as a 5-member girl group including Sojin, Minah, JiHae, Jisun and Jiin. Jisun and Jiin left the group shortly after their debut. Hyeri and Yura were later added to the group to replace these members.

JiHae also left the group in 2012 for a number of personal reasons. Girl’s Day remains a 4-member group and has maintained this activity for nearly 8 years.

2. Yeri (Red Velvet)

Red Velvet debuted under SM Entertainment with 4 members, namely Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy. Yeri was added to the group less than a year after debuting, and her undeniable charm has helped to add more unique elements to Red Velvet.

3. Solji & Hyerin (EXID)

EXID's 6 original group members include Hani, Jeonghwa, LE, Dami, Yuji, and Haeryung. A few months after their debut, Yuji, Dami and Haeryung left the group to pursue other activities.

Some time later, Solji and Hyerin have been added to the group and EXID has remained the same team to this day.

4. Kyuhyun (Super Junior)

Super Junior debuted in 2005 and was considered a project team at the time. The group originally debuted with 12 members.

Kyuhyun was added to the group about a year after Super Junior debuted. Kyuhyun only underwent a short training period, but his amazing vocals and funny personality helped increase the strength and popularity of the group.

5. Yubin (Wonder Girls)

Wonder Girls originally debuted as a 5-member girl group in 2007. HyunA left the group a few months later due to some concerns from her parents.

Shortly after, Yubin was added to the group and became an important member of the group. Wonder Girls has been active for a long time with this 5-member lineup.

6. Elkie & Eunbin (CLC)

CLC originally had 5 members including Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn and Yeeun. Elkie and Eunbin were added to the group about a year later, creating a great well-rounded and energizing group.
